Red flags in Telegram

It messaged you first. BONKbot, TradeWiz and GMGN, for example, say in their docs that staff never DM first, and scammers copy that line too.
It asks you to “validate”, “sync”, “unlock” or “verify” a wallet through a link, a form or a ticket bot.
It asks for a seed phrase or private key, or asks you to import your wallet somewhere.
It asks you to sign a message or “permit” to fix a problem. Signatures like these can hand over your tokens.
It offers a refund, airdrop or recovery after a hack, but wants a fee, your keys or a wallet connection first.
The name is one letter off, or adds words like support, help, official or admin to a real bot’s name.

How to verify a handle

Open the bot’s official website or docs yourself (type the address, don’t follow a DM link) and use the Telegram link published there.
Compare the handle letter by letter, including underscores and look-alike characters such as 0/o and l/I.
Check the “Official Telegram” list on the bot’s BotOrNot page, which links the operator’s own page for every handle.
Report fake support accounts to the Security Alliance (SEAL) at @seal_tips_bot.
