How HLP works
- Hyperliquidity Provider (HLP) is a protocol vault that provides liquidity to Hyperliquid through multiple market-making strategies, performs liquidations, supplies USDC in Earn and accrues a portion of trading fees. It is community-owned: depositors share its PnL. Source: hyperliquid.gitbook.io/hyperliquid-docs/hypercore/vaults/protocol-vaults
- The deposit lock-up is 4 days: you can withdraw 4 days after your most recent deposit (deposit Sep 14 at 08:00, withdraw from Sep 18 at 08:00). Source: hyperliquid.gitbook.io/hyperliquid-docs/hypercore/vaults/protocol-vaults
- User-created vaults are different: their leaders take a 10% profit share from depositors, must keep at least 5% of the vault at all times, and have a 1-day lock-up. - APR is Hyperliquid’s own annualised figure. It reflects recent results and changes daily, so it isn’t a yield anyone guarantees.
Risks to understand
- It’s a trading vault, not a savings account. Depositors share losses as well as profits. Hyperliquid’s own docs say trading is inherently risky and vaults’ past performance is not a guarantee of future returns. - Your money is locked for 4 days after each deposit, so you can’t exit instantly if markets move.
- One venue: HLP’s strategies (market making and liquidations) run on Hyperliquid, so its results depend on trading there. It holds 67% of the deposits across the 73 open vaults we track.
